Art

What do we want our children to achieve in art?

All pupils are able to develop their own artistic style, recognising the work of artists and learning from them. They will explore a range of media, learning the different skills and techniques linked to the genre, to create two dimensional and three dimensional individual pieces of art.

Why is art important?
Teaching art is important because it encourages creativity, reflective thoughts, imagination, cultural awareness and self-expression while helping children develop practical, cognitive, and emotional skills. Art gives children opportunities to explore ideas, experiment with different materials, and communicate their thoughts and feelings in unique ways. Art often supports wellbeing too.

We are teaching, inspiring, creating and nurturing future artists!
