  • Design and Technology (DT)

What do we want our children to achieve in DT?

All pupils are offered the chance to be creative in their work using a range of different materials.  They will explore existing designs and follow the design process of designing, making and evaluating products. Evaluating is a key aspect where pupils learn the importance of learning from mistakes and adapting designs.  They will have opportunities to learn from experts and experience projects in textiles, woodwork, pneumatics, mechanisms, food, structures, electronics and technology.

    Why is DT important?

Teaching Design and Technology (DT) is important because it helps children become creative, practical, and innovative thinkers. It enables pupils to design, make, test, and evaluate products while developing problem-solving skills and applying knowledge from other curriculum subjects. DT prepares children for everyday life and future careers. Children develop practical life skills, such as cooking and nutrition and skills to design and make products with real needs.

We are teaching, inspiring, creating and nurturing future designers, engineers, chefs!
