Commonwealth Games 2022. Today, the children made up different invasion games and tried to demonstrate five core values to score points. The values were: include everyone, have fun, help other people, be a leader and be the best that you can be! The children were also given a country to represent. The winners in both classes were: Northern Ireland and Bermuda. Well done Year 2!
The children were excellent bread bakers today. We had a little bit to finish off our Great Fire of London topic but we're all done now! Hedgehog Class, you were brilliant!
We went a Fire Hydrant walk yesterday in Shenfield Place. I'm not sure which was more exciting - finding the fire hydrants or spotting two cats! The children were very well behaved and love our little cat companion for the journey!
Out of Space Drama Workshop. The children were treated to lots of space themed drama games, including exploring different planets. There was even a link to kindness by picking up some friendship dust on the way back to Earth! The children performed so well and listened very carefully. Well done Hedgehogs!
Subtraction using Base 10. Write the question. Look at the first number to decide how many Base 10s you need. Look at the first number and draw that amount of counters in the Base 10 grids. Look at the second number and cross that amount of counters out. The answer is the amount of counters that haven't been crossed out.

The Great Fire of London Day: Our topic has started with a bang! History Off the Page came to our school to teach us about the historic event of 1666. The children really enjoyed the day!
We have been busy identifying and sorting materials today!
We had a very special visitor today - Neil the Fireman! He gave us a great talk on the Great Fire of London and we even tried on some fire brigade uniform!
