NEW PLANET LEAGUE STARTING!!! A MESSAGE FROM MISS MICHAEL:

Green Football Cup

After our recent success coming 4th in the Planet League Cup, it's time to get active again with their new tournament - the Green Football Cup. It is a similar format to the Planet League Cup but will run for a shorter time - ending on the 5th February.

So, 'Go green for your team with Planet League'.

For every action you take, you score goals for your football club. This is the place where top Premier League sides can be humbled by National League teams, where scores can reach their hundreds in the fight for football and climate glory. It's down to the fans. The more you do, the more you help your club and the planet.

It’s very easy to get started. Sign up. Choose your team and link our school using the communities tab (Shenfield, St Marys C of E Primary School). Find activities to do. And get scoring. You’ll find over 80 activities in different categories like energy, food, nature, travel and water.

Then you just follow the simple steps of each activity. Once you've done this, upload a photo at the end to complete it – we call these Goal Celebrations.  Score 3 goals for each activity you take part in. You can repeat some activities every day or every week to score more goals.

If you would like to join up use the following link https://app.planetleague.co.uk

Go green for your team and help them win!

Thank you

Miss Michael

Year 6 Spring Term Overview

Year 6 Letter to Parents/Carers

We had the pleasure of listening to the author Tony Bradman this afternoon. He read some of his books to us including ‘The Frankenstein Teacher’. The lesson we took away about suspense was ‘make them laugh, make them cry and most importantly, make them... WAIT!’

Prayer Space Day - This afternoon, Sue and her team treated us to an afternoon of reflection over in the church. The children took part in four tasks to extend their thinking and to encourage them to think about their place in the world.

Homework Projects - Well done for your wonderful rainforests in a shoebox. They were very creative and have really brightened up the classroom. For those of you who worked with a partner/partners, well done for organising your time wisely.

Mayan mask making - we are currently in the process of adding the mod-roc to our masks. I think you’ll agree, they are starting to take shape!

Mini Marathon 2022 - We have completed 2.6 miles over the last two days as part of a challenge we were set. A particular well done to all those children who managed to complete their 10 laps of the Courage's Playing Field WITHOUT having to walk! Very impressive!

Here is our Class Charter for this year. We discussed how we could ensure that we have a productive, safe and enjoyable final year at St Mary's. These are the responsibilities, attitudes and values that we agreed
