Topic Changes in Autumn

Due in Wednesday 14th November.

Think about the different changes in Autumn, record what you see. You could look at the weather, nature, animals or anything you notice about autumn. How this is presented is entirely up to you. Some ideas could be a photo scrap book,  photo of art in nature, writing about autumnal changes or a recount of an autumn adventure.

Be creative and have fun!

Homework 12th October

Reading

Read every night.

Imagine you are a character within your story, orally retell what is happening from your point of view.  This doesn’t need to be written down.

Maths

Measure 5 different items in your house using a shoe.

Record how many shoe lengths needed.

You could measure the sofa and bed for example.

Think about whether a child’s shoe or an adults shoe would give the same answer.

Record your findings in homework book.

Sounds and words

Spellings

If your child has sound and word cards please practise them.

Why not use the sounds to create your own ‘alien’ words?

If your child has spellings, please apply them by writing them in a sentence.

Homework 21.9.18

In history this term we are looking at toys. Next Thursday (27th September) we would like the children to bring in their favourite toy to look at with their friends.

Discuss these questions with your child about the toy so they are prepared for the lesson.

  • How long have you had this toy?

  • When do you play with it?

  • Where do you keep it?

  • Why is it your favourite toy?

  • What kind of games can you play with it?

  • What material is it made from?

  • Do you play with it on your own or with someone else?
