This weeks parent visit to Forest Schools is for Dove class.

  Wednesday 26th June.

We will be leaving the staff carpark at 9:10am and returning by 11:45am.

There is no need for you to sign in at the school office.

Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for being outside all morning regardless of weather

All adults must wear high viz jackets. Therefore, if you have your own that would be great or we will provide them.

Refreshments will be provided within the morning but word of warning the toilet is a hole in the ground!

Monday 24th June sports day.

Children need to come dressed in their PE kits with a coloured top for their house.

They will stay in their kits all day.

They also need to bring a sun hat and a filled water bottle.

First step of transition to year 2

As of Monday 24th June the children need to be collected from the Junior playground (pavilion end) after school. We will along the green fence a class sign will indicate our pick up point. Please let anyone who collects your child know where the new pick up point will be.

Use a variety of different sized containers and investigate how many of the smaller container are needed to fill up the larger container. Repeat using containers which have l or ml identified on them and record the corresponding calculations.

The children must have a jumper even in the warmer weather as underneath the tree canopy it can be chilly and weather dependant we will not wear the plastic overalls.

 

Curriculum week

Next week children will be exploring their hopes, dreams and aspirations for themselves and the world through a range of activities.

 

For Monday

Children to think about what job they would like to do in the future and find out 3 facts about that job to share in class.

 

Please can you send in clean packaging of different colours that can be cut up and stuck to make a collage.

 

Children need to wear uniform for the week but trainers instead of school shoes.

They also need a small ‘named work bag and wallet to keep their ‘earnings’ in.

.

Thursday all children are to wear appropriate clothing and footwear for sport activities. This doesn’t have to be pe kits.

World Book Day

Next Thursday we are celebrating World Book Day (7.3.19) and are inviting the children to dress up as a character from a story. The children will spend the day with their house and each house has a theme the children can choose to link their outfit to if they wish.

 

Please see school newsletter for further details.

 

The children will spend the whole day, including playtimes, in their costumes and will need school appropriate footwear.

 Half term homework.
Think about ways in which you use maths during the week, for example playing board games, money when shopping, measuring ingredients when cooking, following maps and looking for shapes in the environment the list is endless. 

We would like the children to share these activities within class week beginning Tuesday 26th February so  they may need photos, notes, pictures to help them.

 

Have a fun, restful half term.

 

Swallow class are starting of our forest school adventure on Wednesday 27th February. Please can a named pair of wellington boots be brought into school on Tuesday.

We will be keeping them in school.

country

Thursday 14th February is our annual cross country. All details will be in the newsletter.

Children have brought PE kits home to be ready to wear into school on Thursday.

Their school uniform, shoes and a spare pair of socks need to come in their PE bags to change into after the event. Please also send a plastic bag for possible muddy footwear! Thank you

The whole school are trailing a new spelling scheme to help children apply learnt spellings within their writing.

All children now have spellings linking with the digraphs and phonemes we are learning to apply within our daily Phonic sessions.

Please encourage your child to identify these patterns within their reading and any writing they may do at home.

They have examples of words containing these spelling patterns to learn and master within their own work. Please check homework diaries.

Just a reminder for our party the children will need a Christmas accessory for our parade.

Please can Dove class provide one packet of a savoury snack. e.g. breadsticks, cheddars or crackers.

Swallow class please can we have some cut fruit. e.g grapes, strawberries, carrot, cucumber, cherry tomatoes.

We will be sharing with all infant classes so if everyone brings only a little we will have plenty.

If your child has any allergies, please just send food for your child clearly labelled.
