Super homework project 5. Well done.

Today Bumblebee class presented an assembly on the Great Fire of London.

They were great at acting, as they put lots of expression in and knew their words. When they spoke, the children's voices were loud and everyone could hear them clearly. The poems about fireworks were performed beautifully.

They also sang London's Burning beautifully and they weren't out of tune or out of time.

The costumes they wore were amazing as it really illustrated who they were acting as.

Finally, Bumblebee class told everyone how to stay safe fantastically.

We thought they deserved another round of applause!

St Mary's Bumblebees

Still image for this video
Mrs O'Brien has been looking after the flowers in the planter outside the reception at school and has recently discovered we are the very lucky owners of a bumblebee nest. The bumblebees are in the lower portion of the planter, and are probably everyday white-tailed bumblebees. They are very active and you can see them flying in at all points of the day.
Please be careful when you are near this area, as although bees are not aggressive, if the nest is threatened they will protect it.

We created these Andy Goldsworthy art creations using natural objects.

Victorian Week Day One - we learnt what a Victorian classroom would have been like and played some Victorian Games. A great start to a fantastic week of learning!

Our trip to Colchester Zoo. We had hands on experience in touching different parts of animals bodies. We had to sort and classify them according to different criteria. We sorted them in to groups of birds, reptiles, mammals, fish and invertebrates. Then we thought about the climate they would come from.

Our Homework certificates - well done to all the children who received them this week for a great effort over the last few weeks. Keep up the good work.
