Otter class - our talent show
As the homework books were not sent home, due to the early school closure, we thought that we would inform you of the focus for the homework this week.
Maths - to practise the 2, 5 and 10 times tables.
There are lots of multiplication games online and even some on the school website under 'Children' - 'Kidszone.'
Literacy/spellings - to explore the prefix 'un' and what happens to the word when we add this to the beginning of the root word, e.g. kind - unkind.
For the 100 Million Minute Reading Challenge the children will be bringing home a bookmark and sponsorship form.
Please record how many minutes your child spends reading at home on the back of the bookmark and write your initials.
Please ensure that the bookmark comes back into school every day so that we can record their reading whilst at school too.
If you are able to sponsor your child for this challenge it would be most appreciated.

More fun in the snow!
Having fun in the snow!
As per the newsletter, the school will be taking part in the '100 Million Minutes Reading Challenge' which runs from the Thursday 1st March to the 29th March 2018. In conjunction with this, we would like the children to bring in a prop, which is linked to their favourite book, so that their classmates can try and guess which book the prop is from. The teachers will be doing this activity on the day before when they read with a class. It should be a fun activity to start us off.
There will be lots more fun reading activities across the three weeks.
Thank you for your continued support with the homework activities.
Regards.
Mrs Ward and Mrs Jessop.
Intrahouse Cross Country – Friday 9th February 2018
The entire school ran a cross country course. It was certainly very muddy and the weather was a little unpredictable but the children ran extremely well despite this. We are extremely proud of the children’s efforts. The Infant Results are as follows: 1st Burrell, 2nd Cole, 3rd Ferguson and 4th Landon. The Overall Winner of the day was Ferguson. Well done to all who participated! J
