Welcome to Shenfield St Mary's Church of England Primary School
Our school has been serving the Shenfield community for over 150 years. Throughout that time it has worked closely with St Mary's Church to provide an excellent wide ranging school experience for its pupils. Our vision is 'to unlock every child's potential as a unique child of God'. Please open the presentation below to find out more about our school, how we welcome new pupils and what life is like for a pupil here.
Below are some short films, giving you an insight of life in our school.
Please do email me, Mrs Taggart, Head Teacher, with any questions that you have about the school that have not been answered on our website.
What does it mean to be a Church of England School?
Each day we spend some time in collective worship, where we reflect upon what we have learnt and pray for each other and our futures (if we choose to). We follow Christian values to underpin our worship and learning.
We usually attend St Mary's Church on Thursdays and on special occasions, such as harvest time and Christmas. This year we could not worship as a whole school actually inside our church, instead, we created this special Harvest Festival.
What does being a 'unique child of God' mean?
We pride ourselves on recognising each child as special and unique; for their own talents and interests to be recognised and extended as well as encouraging each individual to achieve to the best of their ability socially, morally, culturally, physically, artistically and academically.
Every child is offered a broad and balanced curriculum and provided additional experiences throughout their time here. Follow this link to our Year 6 Leavers' Assembly 2020, to hear about their journey through Shenfield St Mary's.
