Our Volcano Projects!
Well done to all of Red Deer class for their wonderfully innovative Volcano Projects. We sampled one of the cakes today and we look forward to making our models erupt later in the week.

AUDITIONS-WEDNESDAY 15TH MAY
If you have signed up to audition for Rock Bottom, here are the page numbers to look at. You do not have to learn the part off by heart, but it will help if you are familiar with it- you will give a more convincing performance.
Time Keepers P19
Coral/Cliff P23/24
Rocky P25
Morris Miner P26
Bobby P27/28
The Three Amigos P31
Lady Lava P39/40

Have a look at all of the pages that your characters appear on, but you will only be asked to audition once. We just don't have the time for more.
If your character sings, you will be asked to sing at least a verse of one of the following songs.
Coral/Cliff Smile
Willie Welcome to My World
Bobby Welcome to My World (Reprise)
Lady Lava Spell on You
Our Clean Litter Creations
As part of our whole school initiative to raise the children's awareness of the dangers of litter, Red Deer have created some colourful collages using some of the materials that we should be recycling at home.

Homework this week is simply to read the next two chapters of Goodnight Mr Tom and carry out your WW2 interview. Read plenty and enjoy the holiday. Langdon Hills Country Park apparently has a WW2 display hidden in the middle- might be worth a visit.

MERRY CHRISTMAS
Our Dreadful Menace Poems
In class we have being working on a literacy unit based on the 2014 Winter Olympics trailer, in which Charles Dance recites a poem called ‘The Dreadful Menace’. This poem uses many literary features including: personification, similes, metaphors, repetition, exaggeration, hyperboles and symbolism. We have composed our own poems following the same rhyming and syllable pattern. We have recorded them so you can fully appreciate our achievements.
