The School Day

The school gates open at 8.40am each morning and close at 8.50am.  Entrance is either via Hall Lane or the Courage Playing Field gates.

The children have a 15 minutes mid-morning break.

Lunchtime commences at 12.00pm for infants and finishes at 1.05pm.  Juniors commence lunch at 12.15pm and finishes at 1.15pm.

Infant pupils finish at 3.10pm, with juniors finishing at 3.15pm, enable parents to meet infants at a designated place and then wait for the junior pupil.  

The length of the school week for infant age pupils is 31 hours and 40 minutes.

The length of the school week for junior age pupils is 32 hours and 5 minutes. 

From the 1st September 2024 all mainstream schools are to deliver a school week of at least 32.5 hours.

Our current school hours are:

Gate opens at 8.40am

Infants 8.50am to 3.10pm – total in week 31 hours 40 minutes

Juniors 8.50am to 3.15pm – total in week 32 hour 5 minutes

Hours from September 1st September 2024 (consultation took place 2022-23)

Infants 8.50am to 3.20pm – total in week 32 hours 30 minutes

Juniors 8.50am to 3.25pm – total in week 32 hours 55 minutes – extend lunch by 5 minutes ensuring end of day is staggered to ease congestion on the playground ensuring the safety of the children and parents.

This is a directive from the Government and is now statutory.
