Vision and Values

Shenfield St Mary’s Church of England Primary School is a friendly, open and caring school for boys and girls aged 4 – 11 years.

Since 1865 a school has stood on this same site in Shenfield and throughout its history to the present day, the school has played an important role in the local community and parish. Recognising its historic foundations, it aims to preserve and develop its religious character in accordance with the teachings of the Church of England, working in partnership with the Church at the levels of both St Mary’s parish and the Chelmsford Diocese.

The ethos of the school is based on mutual respect and consideration for others. We encourage a strong sense of equality across the school and our mission statement (see below) underpins everything we do.

The school aims to give its pupils access to a wide curriculum and to a range of learning experiences of the highest standard.

We encourage an understanding of the meaning and significance of not only the Christian faith but also other world religions and their values.

Vision:

Unlock every child’s potential as a unique child of God

Our aim is to ensure that every child’s unique strengths are celebrated and strengthened alongside gaining an excellent academic, social, emotional and physical education.

Values:

FORGIVENESS - TRUST - RESPONSIBILITY - RESPECT - THANKFULNESS - JUSTICE - HUMILITY

Ephesians 3.17-19

May Christ dwell in your hearts through faith, that being rooted and grounded in love, you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
