In RE this afternoon, the children looked at various pieces of art associated with the Easter Story. Working in pairs, they then had to match a picture to the correct Station of the Cross. Needless to say, some were more successful than others. However, everyone demonstrated terrific team work, so WELL DONE, PENGUINS!
Here is a small selection of some of the comic strips created as part of World Book Day. Children were asked to think of their favourite book and then invent a prequel. They were to convey a scene from their prequel as a comic strip. Children were allowed to use characters from the original book or invent their own ones.
It seems that Penguin Class very much enjoyed their screen-free day yesterday. Here's what a few of the children got up to!

In Art this term, the children were tasked with designing and producing a Mayan mask using mod-roc as a medium. They had to consider the purpose of the mask and the choice of colours they would use to decorate it. Some children added extra embellishments such as feathers, coloured beads and wool. These are the masks that have been finished to date. I think you'd agree that the children have done a FABULOUS job!

In Literacy last week, we wrote biographies about Charles Darwin to link with our science work. It is fair to say that they 'evolved' over time, but I think you'll agree, the end product was worth the wait! Well done Penguin Class.
Here are more wonderful home projects. Very inventive!
